Poker News - Full Tilt Poker's David Grey Wins Second World Series of Poker Bracelet
July 8, 2005
World Series of Poker's most prestigious bracelets on Wednesday by winning the $5,000 buy-in No-Limit Deuce to Seven Draw Lowball tournament. The victory gives Grey the second WSOP bracelet of his career, and marks the fourth bracelet won by a representative of online poker site www.fulltiltpoker.com during this year's preliminary events -- a feat matched by no other online poker site.
Grey's victory in the final open preliminary tournament of the 2005 World Series of Poker earned him $365,135 and marks a fitting end to a string of preliminary events dominated by Full Tilt Poker's professionals, including Allen Cunningham who won this year's first open event.
Throughout the WSOP's 34 open preliminary tournaments, Full Tilt Poker's 27 professional representatives have earned a total of $4,223,616 or an amazing 8.6% of the total $48,871,048 prize pool. Making those numbers even more impressive is the fact that Full Tilt Poker's representatives accounted for approximately 2% of the total players in the 34 open events.
"David has been known as one of the top cash game players in the world for the past 15 years, but with this second WSOP bracelet, he's shown that he's also one of the top tournament players in the game," said Grey's long-time friend and fellow www.fulltiltpoker.com representative Howard Lederer.
Grey represents one of the fastest growing online poker sites, www.fulltiltpoker.com, and spends several hours a week online helping amateur players learn the game by sharing his poker knowledge through real-time chats at the virtual tables. Along with Grey, 26 other top poker professionals play exclusively at www.fulltiltpoker.com, where they have helped to create the best possible atmosphere for players who want to improve their games.
